As IT Relations Manager is a critical role that will ensure IT alignment with the business needs. You will be responsible for some complex projects that are of huge strategic importance so you will bring with your significant experience of running large, complex, multiple IT projects. We operate in a lean-agile environment so it is essential for you to be qualified and experienced in these practices and methodologies. Your ‘day to day’
- Understand business needs, define requirements, propose an efficient solution, confirm the financial proposal of the project and inspire change
- Drive strong business alignment, particularly by collaborating with local/global digital departments to ensure IT B2C is taken into account in all relevant business initiatives/projects
- Demonstrate eye for business, for example, by encouraging innovation through attendance at digital fairs, conferences, and so on, and sharing/collaborating internally as well as with other PMI markets and the PMI digital lab
- Solve specific business problems by carrying out experiments, projects, etc. with innovative approaches and project methodologies such as FastForward, Agile, SCRUM, Design thinking, etc.
- Co-lead major Philip Morris International (PMI) projects in the commercial area supporting product offering with focus on digital/analytical systems and close collaboration with all business functions & 3rd parties in the B2C area
- Apply project management, organisational change, service management methodology, and usability practices based on known solutions, applications, and good practices assuring alignment to standards
- Drive communication and coordination for the success of B2C projects, ensuring agility, business alignment, encouraging innovation, etc.
- Lead projects within agreed-upon scope, budget, resources, and timelines
- Ensure that measures are taken in projects to improve quality and reduce risk, including risk analyses, impact assessments, needs assessments, financial analysis, test planning and execution, contingency and deployment plans
- Acquire functional and technical knowledge of business and IT processes in the area of RRP and Analytics systems to ensure that day-to-day activities and business projects are supported effectively
- Ensure an excellent service is provided to business functions and drive continuous improvements in the Reduced-risk Products (RRP) & Analytics system, with a focus on vendor management, system integration, and interfaces
- Ensure that all IT services under your supervision are in accordance with PMI P&Ps and IT controls
- Assist PMI in its vision of becoming a data-driven company by focusing on data flows across all B2C and B2B systems, for example, by understanding the source of all RRP-related data, the various system interfaces, and the meaning of significant data
- Lead the delivery of all project outcomes related to (Philip Morris South Africa)PMSA strategy as an IT project manager for all components in scope, including integration tasks and data migration from legacy systems to new system landscape, working closely with all technical product owners at PMSA as well as local business, particularly the digital stream, global functions, and third parties.
- Assist the PM RE with the IT project
- Create an agreed-upon, sustainable, and documented project, as well as a Run & Support model in collaboration with internal and external partners
- Assist with IT auditing activities
- Take over as service manager for commercial services and complete related tasks, such as IT controls, on time, documenting and sharing with team members
- Enhance the current Run & Support model and service management/organisational change strategy, including continuous service improvement for IT-related incidents/changes
- Look into “lower-value” daily activities in your responsible area (e.g., CRM, DCS), document them, and outsource them to third parties
Handle vendor relationships and put the vendor framework in place as needed
Who we’re looking for
- Completed Relevant Computer Sciences, Information Systems, and /or Business Degree is required
- A minimum of 8-10 years of IT experience
- Agile Certification (Agile PM, Scrum, etc.) is required
- Minimum 4 years of experience managing IT Projects within a consumer space is essential
- Experienced people management experience
- Strong ability to communicate and building great relationships are key
- Demonstrable experience in coaching and guiding teams in a matrix environment to lead, develop and retain high-performing teams
- Experience with collaborating with cross-functions and leading 3rd party suppliers is key
- Solid experience in validation prior to submitting work. Working with defined analysis within project scope, routine work typically is short-term activity.
- Lead all aspects of the scope of work defined, coordinate projects and analyses for approval based on preliminary investigations
- Experience in FMCG or banking environment is preferred
Other Key Requirements
- A strong understanding of Service Integration, Vendor Management, Operational risk and resilience, Business Process improvement methods as well as risk related control frameworks and practices
- Ability to deliver results in global, matrixed environments comprised of internal and external stakeholders
- Proven track record in fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environments
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, as well as ability to deliver presentations to large groups
- Analytical thinking with curiosity to learn the products and analytics ecosystem
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills, positive and supportive attitude towards others
