Rukwa Region came into being in 1974 when part of Mbeya and Tabora Regions were demarcated to form a new Region. The region is located in the South-Western part of Tanzania between 05◦S – 07ºS and 30 – 310 E. The recent formation of Katavi region left Rukwa Region with an area of 27,765 km2; Whilst 21,160 km2 is land area, the remaining 6,605 km2 are covered with water bodies. The Region is divided into three (3) Districts namely Kalambo, Nkasi and Sumbawanga which form four (4) Local Government Authorities (LGA) namely Sumbawanga Municipal Council, Sumbawanga District Council, Kalambo District Council and Nkasi District Council. The Region has 16 Divisions, 64 Wards and 318 Villages.
The Region borders with Zambia to the Southwest, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) to the West across Lake Tanganyika, Katavi Region in the North and Mbeya to the Southeast. The highest point of the region is at Malonje in the Ufipa plateau at 2,461 meters above sea level and the lowest point is Lake Tanganyika at 773 meters above sea level.

- Visit the official TAMISEMI website at www.tamisemi.go.tz.
- On the TAMISEMI home page, look for the ‘announcement’/”MATANGAZO” tab.
- Look for NEWS about the form five selection for 2022/2023.
- When you select the RUKWA region, the system will display the RUKWA District Councils.
- Choose the District Council where you studied and completed your secondary school.
- When you click the name of your secondary school, a list of selected pupils will appear.
- Verify your name in a comprehensive list and the school you have chosen.
How was the TAMISEMI Form Five Selection 2023 held?
Students who passed their final examinations of the Certificate of Secondary Educationa Examinations (CSEE) from Divisions one to three can choose to join Form Five if they chose to join the advanced level during the fill selform, where students could choose to join Form Five to Form Six or join with colleges based on their performance in Form Examination Results 2022, which were released by the National Examination Council of Tanzania (NECTA) in January 2022.
As a result, TAMISEMI will assign students to their preferred school, college, and mix of courses. As a student, you must be very cautious in your decisions in order to study what you want.
