Morogoro Region is the second largest Region in the country (First is Tabora). Region has an area of 73,039 square kilometers. This area is equivalent to 7.7 percent of the entire area of the mainland; 2240 km2 of this area is water area. The province has borders the coast and Lindi Regions to the east , Manyara and Tanga in the north and in the west it borders the Dodoma and Iringa Regions. South side borders Ruvuma Region
Weather
Region gets Rain twice a year. Autumn rain falls from October to mid- January, and the latter rain falls in the middle of February and ends in May. Rainfall ranges from 600 mm in the plains to 1,200 mm in the highlands. However, there are areas with drought that gets wet under 600 millimeters per year. Those parts included in the division of the Division of Gairo in Gairo District , Mamboya in Kilosa District and Ngerengere Division in Morogoro District

Morogoro Region administratively divided into six districts which are Morogoro, Mvomero , Kilosa , Kilombero, Ulanga and Gairo .
According to the Structure of Local Government Councils Region has six districts Councils and one Municipal Council. District Councils include Kilosa , Gairo , Kilombero , Morogoro, Ulanga , Mvomero and Morogoro Municipal Council . It has 10 Province states, 212 Wards, 673 Villages, 295 streets, 3451 hamlets
Population
According to the Census of Population and Housing in 2012 the number of households in the Morogoro Region is 489,688 with 2,218,492 people of whom women is 1, 125,190 men are 1,093,302 . The average number of people in a household is 4.5.
